What is Colon Hydrotherapy?
Colon hydrotherapy is also known as colon irrigation or colonics. This therapy introduces warm, purified water gently into the large intestine (colon) through a small disposable nozzle. The introduction of water loosens waste material and makes it easy to evacuate through natural peristalsis (muscle action of the colon). Waste material includes impacted feces, mucus, toxins, trapped gases, and parasites.
Colon hydrotherapy not only removes waste material it hydrates the colon and tones it! A colon that is toned and hydrated is a colon that can move waste material easily!
A colon that lacks tone, is dehydrated and impacted with dry feces will have a slow transit time. If your transit time is greater than 24 hours per meal, your colon will reabsorb toxins from the material moving slowly through it. Average transit time for many Americans is 60-70 hours. When toxins are being reabsorbed from the large intestine they are being transferred to many different organs and systems causing the body to be less efficient. This will result in many less than desirable symptoms including, fatigue, headaches, gas, bloating, acne, allergies, muscle and joint pain, and many more.
Many people get confused because even if you are having a bowel movement everyday you could still be suffering from constipation and a slow transit time. This leads many people to believe that they do not have any digestive problems, but in fact they may be eliminating food that is 2-5 days old. There is a simple and effective way you can test your transit time: Consume corn, beets, or a couple handfuls of sesame seeds and then count the hours until it appears in your stool.
If you are suffering from a slow transit time, colonics are just the thing to help get your colon cleaned up, re-hydrated and toned!
How do I know if I need colon hydrotherapy?
Inefficient elimination may cause colon toxicity, which in many cases is the underlying cause or factor of many commonly reported health problems. When the colon is compacted, toxins are recycled back into the bloodstream potentially causing toxemia or disease. If you are suffering from any of the following symptoms of toxic buildup, then colon cleansing may benefit you: constipation, diarrhea, headaches, arthritis, allergies, gas, bloating, difficult weight loss, food cravings, candida, parasites, bad breath, low energy, skin disorders, fatigue, frequent colds, yeast infections, low concentration, irritability.
How many sessions will I need? And how much will it cost?
A normal colon therapy session last for about one hour and 15 minutes. The cost for each session is $80.00. To begin with most clients will have two colonics in a row (i.e. one on Monday and the second on Tuesday). By doing the first two sessions back to back, the client will be able to hydrate the impacted fecal matter and potentially have more releases. Each client is a unique individual with unique needs. There is no mandatory number of sessions. If desired, I can help you tailor a program to meet your needs.

Can colon hydrotherapy help to control weight?
People in developed nations may carry within their bodies anywhere from 5 to even 50 pounds of accumulated toxic materials. The majority of it is stored in the colon. Accumulated toxic waste slows down the metabolism. Colon hydrotherapy may help to eliminate toxic weight and increase your metabolic rate at the same time.
How will I feel after a colon hydrotherapy session?
It is very common to feel “lighter” or more energetic after a colon hydrotherapy treatment. Sometimes, though not often, you can have a slightly “toxic” feeling after your first treatment. This is most likely due to toxins that get stirred up and reabsorbed into the bloodstream. Be sure to drink plenty of water if this should happen. You will be able to eat and resume normal activities.
Is the colon hydrotherapy procedure sanitary?
There is a disposable, "single use", colon cleansing nozzle package that is used for each patient. The water that is entering your colon is highly filtered and passes through ultra violate light to kill microorganisms.
Will I experience any intestinal discomfort or fatigue after the cleansing?
Usually not, but since the cleansing will stir up a lot of old debris and toxins, you might experience some minor nausea or fatigue with your first session. If any discomfort occurs, it is recommended to rest and apply a warm heating pad to the abdomen. If you wish, a mild vegetable broth or peppermint tea is usually soothing at this time. Any discomfort will usually pass within 24 hours. Follow-up sessions provide the necessary means to continue sweeping and cleansing toxins which is often reported to produce an array of beneficial symptoms.
What effects will Colon Hydrotherapy have on my skin, allergies, etcetera?
Many clients have reported that Colon Hydrotherapy has cleared up acne, allergies, as well as asthma. They also tell me about the increase in energy, and how calm they feel. Colon Hydrotherapy is not a cure, but a valuable procedure for a wide variety of many health problems. By retoning and improving elimination, we remove the number one source of disease in the body. In addition, we open up the bowel to a more efficient means of waste elimination and nutrient absorption, both of which are essential to any lasting healing process. This is also the first step towards normalizing the bowel so that the friendly bacteria will return to keep the colon safe from putrefaction and any further autointoxication.
Do I need to prepare for my colonic?
Please prepare the day before your session by drinking a few liters of water throughout the day (tip: try to do this every day) to ensure that you are well-hydrated for your session. Eat healthy and nourishing foods the day of your colon hydrotherapy session, unless you are fasting. Eating a meal, two to four hours before your colonic is ideal, but no food or beverage should be consumed in the two hours before your appointment.
You are in the process of taking very good care of yourself, so remember to allow for the time and space you need to be in a calm state of mind. Your body responds best to treatment when it is relaxed: deep breathing, laughing, exercising, soothing music and a positive, supportive environment all help facilitate this peaceful state.
